Worship
Worship is an important part of the daily life of our St Oswald's community. On a Monday we have whole school worship , class worship is on a Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday following the same theme and then on a Friday we have a whole school celebration.
Mini church is held each half term for pupils in Early Years and their families and a communion service takes place the same week for the rest of the school and their families. Our Year 6 children take part in this service through Bible readings, prayers, and by giving bread to all the children. Dates are shared with parents/ carers via the school newsletter.
Our Worship Warriors team lead worship twice a half term, which is fully planned, prepared and delivered by them. They also hold responsibility during Monday collective worship and in class worship time by preparing and reading prayers and songs. They also gather pupil voice and make suggestions to help develop worship in school.
Our children's spiritual development is very important in our planning and preparation of collective worship. We follow the framework linked below when planning and delivering collective worship to ensure that as much opportunity as possible for spiritual development is given.
Every year each class has the opportunity to visit Liverpool Cathedral where they take part in workshops linked to their unit of work and also have a guided tour of the stunning building. If you visit their website there is a calander of upcoming events where you can visit with the family.
You can find links to our worship plans for each term below.
