St. Oswald's Values
St Oswald's CE Primary School has the Christian faith at it's heart. Our Christian values are at the root of all that we do and endeavour to achieve. Our strong Christian ethos has created a calm, family environment where staff and pupils are happy and proud of their achievements.
Our core Christian values are Community, Service, Justice, Creation, Friendship, Thankfulness, Peace, Hope and Perseverance.
These Values are shared with children on a regular basis, and reinforced through our teaching. Most of these Values can be said to be ‘Human Values’ and inclusive for people with different or diverse faiths, and also for those with no faith. As a Church of England school, however, we have rooted these Values in the Bible. Children have regular opportunities to reflect on each value and to develop an understanding of the Value in action. We believe these values are empowering our pupils to develop their spirituality and guiding them in personal development as effective learners and good citizens. Each class holds a family assembly where all are invited to celebrate with the children what they have learnt and wish to share about their class value.
Please click on the tabs below for more information about each of the Values. Each page provides a small explanation about the Value, and a linked Bible story that illustrates the Value well and is particularly memorable for the children.
