Water, Water Topic

Lesson: Topic

Class: Year 1 Year: 2021 - 2022

Year 1 thoroughly enjoyed their Spring Term topic, Water, Water!

They learnt interesting facts about famous landmarks in Liverpool as well as discovering the History of the Royal Albert Dock and the man who designed it, Jesse Hartley.

They became designers and creators themselves when they constructed their own Liverpool landmarks as part of their Homework Project.

The children also enjoyed learning all about famous pirates from the past including Blackbeard and and Anne Bonny. They designed and made their own pirate ships before testing them on water to see if they would float or sink.

They even enjoyed a visit to the Liverpool Maritime Museum where they attended a pirate workshop to find out more about what life was like on a pirate ship!
