Welcome to St.Oswald’s CE Primary School’s website

Thank you for choosing St. Oswald's CE for your child.  We are a friendly, caring and nurturing school where all are valued.  The children are at the heart of all we deliver, in the curriculum and in the after school clubs we offer.  The values of the Christian Faith underpin the  ethos of the school and provide the pupils with a secure sense of belonging.

As you explore the pages we hope they will give you a taste of our school and its community.

St. Oswald's is a one form entry primary school with a nursery class. It has 231 pupils aged 3 – 11 years and a dedicated and committed staff team who strive to provide the best possible opportunities for all of our pupils.

The history of the school can be found elsewhere on our web site; it shows how the school has grown and developed during the years of its existence. Today it is involved in a range of activities which aim to develop all of our pupils and provide wider opportunities for their families.  We are very proud of our two mini buses which enable us to take whole classes into the wider community and beyond and participate in a range of visits, sporting and cultural events (both locally and nationally!) A visit to our Awards section in Key Information will illustrate the outstanding achievement which has taken place in our school, this includes Awards for Outstanding International links, Arts Mark Gold and a host of others!

We have a varied education programme in and out of school, the new curriculum is delivered to all classes this year. The Curriculum delivered to each class can be found on the class pages.

All our staff deliver extra curricular activities - a list of which will be updated termly.  The clubs range from various sporting activities including horse riding, study groups, music and singing, arts and eco clubs.

Of course exploring the web site is not the same as touring the school and we hope that after visiting our web site that interested parents will be tempted to come and see St. Oswald’s for themselves.  Please do call in to school to make an appointment to view the school and meet our welcoming and dedicated staff.

I hope you have found the information available useful, if there is anything else you would like to ask please email using the 'contact details' section.  Thank you.

Miss E. Murtagh (Headteacher)  B.ED Hons & NPQH
