The Little Red Hen W/E 14.10.16

Class: Nursery Year: 2016 - 17

This week we heard the story of the Little Red Hen.  The children were excellent at joining in with the story retelling, playing the parts of the cat, dog and duck who keep saying "Not I!" whenever their friend the Hen asks for help.  We loved exploring flour, first dry where we could mark make and then we added water to create a dough consistency!  It was extremely sticky! We have also been exploring seeds in different areas, including planting some.  Finally, we rounded off the week by making our own bread and worked very hard kneading the dough! What a great arm workout!  The afternoon children even made some extra to share with Miss Murtagh, who gladly welcomed their special delivery of warm bread!
