Year 5 Spring Term


In maths year 5 will be developing their understanding of fractions, decimals and percentge, multiplication and division and angles.They will also explore 3d shapes through their science topic of Earth and Space.




In English year 5  are lookng at the film clip of the Ridge, here they will be developing their use of desctipive language through settings, recountingthe events, writing their own narrtive. They will also be lookign at the Planet Pandora and creating their own planet. They will also explore the astronught Tim Peake, creating a newspaper report on his trip to the international Space Station.


Year 5 are exploring animals and humans, earth and space and forces. They will be able to explain how humans develop during their life cycle. Descrbe the movement of Earth and other Planets relative to the Sun in the Solar System and use the idea of the earth's rotation to explain day and night.


Year 5 are studying Jesus as a teacher and Easter - Victory


In topic the children are exploring Rule Britannia. They will learn about the English Civil war and how


In computing the children will be learning about E-safety and modelling and simulations. Creating models of the solar system.


The children will be drawing images of some of the buildings which were designed by Sir Christopher Wren.

Design and Technology

The children will be making  models of St Pauls Cathedral.


The children will be developing their skills in gymnastics, football and swimming.
