Homework

Homework is a crucial element of your child's education. Please ensure that homework is completed regularly and to a high standard.

Monday:     Talk homework sent home to prepare for extended write on Friday.

Reading books changed if reading record is signed.

Tuesday:

Wednesday: Homework due in. Late homework will not be marked.

Thursday:    Spelling test

Reading books changed if reading record is signed.

Friday:         Maths/English/Topic homework to be sent home.

Spellings sent home to be tested on the following Thursday.

Additional copies of spellings are displayed on the classroom window with the group at the top of the page.

Reading books will be changed on Mondays and Thursdays if reading journals are signed. We can not change your child's book if the reading record is not signed. Please read with your child as often as possible (preferably nightly) and encourage them to enjoy the story by asking questions and discussing the story and characters.

All children have an IXL username and password. Please make sure your child accesses IXL as regularly as possible to help develop and consolidate their maths learning. These activities are simple and fun games which the children love to play.

New paper copies of the books your child reads in their daily Read Write Inc session will be sent home weekly so please look after them (they were very expensive!!). These will be sent home after your child has practised them for a few days so they should be able to amaze you with their reading fluency. Please celebrate this and praise them appropriately.

Further information about Read write Inc our phonics program is available at http://www.ruthmiskin.com/en/.
